Three Rings

25 June 2015, London Waldorf Gala / 26 June - 4 July 2015, Trafalgar Hotel

Presented by Switchboard and the Royal College of Art Queer Society, Three Rings looks back on 41 years of archival materials from one the UK's oldest and most respected helplines. Inspired by the tens of thousands of paper records, digital reports, posters, and first hand testimonies, six artists explore the changing faces of the LGBT+ communities, their experiences, fears, and hopes for the future. Each call to the Switchboard begins with three rings; three moments for the caller and volunteer to gather their thoughts and their courage. Here these moments and those that follow are vividly illustrated, a conceptual render of reticence, rage and grief.

Participating artists: Mary-Emma Brooks, Alexander Christie, Paul Coombs, Clair LeCouteur, Hollie Miller & Sam Williams. Project managed by Georgia Muenster & Laura Prime.
